Flash Update

Just a quick hundred. Nothing really to report. I wrote about 5,000 words today so we're a quarter of the way through the book. It's June 8th so we're on schedule.  I've delved into Emily's love life, her relationship with men, and Alan, her current boyfriend.

He's a lovely bloke. I guarantee you'll love him when you read it. He's kind, generous, caring, loving, considerate, non judgmental and warm. He loves Emily's daughter, Penny. They watch tellytubbies together and play dolls houses. He babysits. Despite Emily's unfortunate past, he never judges her.

There's a dialogue sequence in the book where Emily admits to something most people would find uncomfortable to listen to, but Alan doesn't blame her at all. He never raises his voice. He is supportive and a fine listener. I don't think I've ever written a nicer male character - possibly Kevin in Kid Atomic. I really like him.

You know what happens to nice characters in books like this, though. .

I've also done some work on her tattoo process, but that's the weakest aspect. Hopefully Dawn will help me. She's a tattoo buff so I'm in good hands.  Incidentally, we completed the cover tonight for my first ever fiction book, Hollywood Shakedown, so that's two down four to go. We're doing TIW next.

I'd love to put the photo on your right on the cover, but I wouldn't be allowed. Copyright, you understand.
